Education & Play

We firmly believe that play is the natural way for children to learn. The world is an exciting place with lots of new experiences and challenges so we aim to support children in these new adventures and help them explore and experience new things. We work in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage which is a Government document which supports and provides guidance for everyone working with children in early years.

We use the framework to assist our planning of activities and daily routines. We plan according to the seven areas of learning:

  1. Personal, social and emotional development
  2. Language and communication
  3. Physical development
  4. Mathematics
  5. Literacy
  6. Understanding the world
  7. Expressive art & design

Children learn best when they are happy and feel secure. Whilst your child is playing at Care Love Learn they are actively learning about literacy, numeracy and the community and the natural environment.

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn”

We maintain a personalised record of every child’s development, showing their abilities, progress, interests and areas needing further staff or parental assistance.

For children whose home language is not English, we will take responsible steps to:

  • Provide opportunities for children to develop and use their home language in play and learning and support their language and development at home.
  • Ensure that children have sufficient opportunities to learn and reach a good standard in English language during the EYFS, ensuring that children are ready to benefit from the opportunities available to them when they begin reception.

We ensure that the educational programmes are well planned and resourced to have depth and breadth across the seven areas of learning. They provide interesting and challenging experiences that meet the needs of all children. Planning is based on a secure knowledge and understanding of how to promote the learning and development of young children and what they can achieve.

Developing tailor made activities based on observations allows us to create bespoke future planning and draw on children’s needs and interests. We review all aspects of learning and development and ensure a flexible approach is maintained, which responds quickly to children’s learning and developmental needs.
